Egor Kuroptev

Director, South Caucasus

A media manager and political expert from Russia, Kuroptev boasts over 20 years of extensive experience in project management. He began his career at the Russian news radio Echo of Moscow in 2003. In Russia Kuroptev has been a producer of various political and entertaining media projects.

Since 2012, he has been based in Tbilisi, Georgia, focusing on projects aimed at analyzing the Kremlin's domestic disinformation campaigns, foreign malign influence, and developing countermeasures.

In Georgia, Kuroptev co-founded a charitable children's camp for refugees from Ukraine and children living near the occupation line in Georgia. He is an active participant in the anti-occupation movement "Strength in Unity" and a co-founder of the humanitarian project Lifeline.ge.

Since 2019, Kuroptev has led the South Caucasus office of the Free Russia Foundation, coordinating assistance to thousands of Russian exiles. Since 2022, he has led the FRF Strategic Communications Centre, which brings together dozens of professionals to counter Kremlin propaganda.
